The Analog Devices AD9850BRSZ-REEL is a direct digital synthesis (DDS) frequency synthesizer for programmable sine-wave generation. It uses a 32-bit frequency tuning word and an internal 10-bit DAC. A built-in comparator can turn the signal into a square-wave clock output.

Its digital phase control supports phase shifts, while the serial or parallel programming interface gives designers two ways to set operating values. The device also has a power-down function. These features help combine signal generation and clock output in one component.

Use this DDS synthesizer with comparator in agile local oscillator designs, digital communication clock recovery and locking circuits, or digitally controlled ADC encode generation.
