ATATMEL-ICE USB-powered programmer and debugger for supported AVR and SAM microcontrollers, with a 1.62 V to 5.5 V target voltage range.

The Microchip ATATMEL-ICE is a USB-powered in-circuit programmer and debugger for supported AVR and SAM microcontrollers. It works with on-chip programming and debug interfaces and supports target voltages from 1.62 V to 5.5 V. The unit draws power from its USB connection; it does not power the target board.

Its support for JTAG, SWD, PDI, SPI, debugWIRE, UPDI and aWire lets engineers work with several AVR and SAM device families through one tool. Two 10-pin connectors provide AVR and ARM Cortex debug pinouts. The tool can also capture ITM trace over the TRACE/SWO pin at up to about 3 MB/s.

Use the ATATMEL-ICE to program and debug supported AVR UC3, XMEGA, AVR 8-bit and SAM ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers. It also supports TPI programming for compatible tinyAVR devices.
