A Type K thermocouple Sensor refers to any temperature sensor containing Chromed and Alumel conductors, that meets the output requirements as stated in ANSI/ASTM E230 or IEC 60584 for Type K thermocouples. This may be an immersion sensor, a surface sensor, a wire, or another style of sensor or cable. A K-Type thermocouple sensor is one of the most common and widely used types of thermocouples for measuring temperature. It consists of two dissimilar metal wires, typically made from chromel (nickel-chromium alloy) and alumel (nickel-aluminum alloy), joined at one end to form a measuring junction.
